Announcing a new Fedora for the XO-1 release
Today I am releasing OS16 for the XO-1. You can get it here. Installations instructions are here.

This build brings us more inline with the work being done for the XO-1.5, as well it includes several changes incorporated from the Paraguay builds.

I want to thank Bernie Innocenti for his work done on the Paraguay build and his efforts to stabilize the system as we work towards an official release. Thanks to the XO-1.5 team as well for all their work.

Fedora for the XO-1

Always good to know someone's pushing the envelope of what an XO-1 can do. Even as I came across your post I'm experimenting with os-es on my XO-1, having tried os140py, then 180, then 240, then 295 in recent days.

295 in particular seems pretty polished, with tabbed browsing, several activities I haven't seen before including a reliable-seeming "Get Books" activity. In all these versions I have appreciated the ability to switch painlessly (in ~35 seconds) to the regular Linux desktop, though as Sugar keeps evolving I'm finding it less necessary to go there. I'm particularly taken with the ease of "yum install midori" for a well-featured browser that's much lighter than Firefox.

So having reached 295 in only the last day or two, I'm presuming they're quite similar. What will I find different about os16?

Re: Fedora for the XO-1

Really the only difference between these 2 builds is the version of Sugar we are using. The py builds are using 0.88 while my builds are on 0.84. 0.84 is considered the more stable of the 2. As soon as a few issues with 0.88 are resolved I will move my builds to it as well. Thanks for the question.
